Motherhood on the upswing!

Here I am again, in the wee hours of the morning, writing. It is one of my most valued times. I have been thinking about ways that I can teach my children to be generous without thinking in terms of money. Well, I was able to be an example yesterday. It was kind of nice to know that we are able to pay it forward.

I spent the day with my friend Lynnette and her 1 month old son. Zac. They have had a rough go of it to say the least. Birth, Mom with pneumonia, in the hospital and baby with RSV in the hospital. I am sure Michael was just beside himself. I went to take lunch and hold the dear while mamma got some sleep. Well being a true mom-she didn't sleep! She did get a shower. I really enjoyed spending time with them both. I think it is the best way to pay it forward.

I have a few talents that I am proud of and take forgranted most days. Cooking ( and loving it) is one of them. I would rather have a cleaning crew come in once a month than be able to have a chef eveyday. Cooking is my cathartic activity! It gives my hands something to do and keeps my mind just busy enough to let me sort through and be clear. If you ever see me coming with lots of food-life is either really good or really bad! If you watch Grey's-think Izzie. Muffins for everyone! Life has been good and I am able to cook again.

Birthday update-39 is fabulous! Robin Williams-hilarious! The Pretenders-goodness I so want to be Chrissie Hines in another life! I was surprised from my family with a nice dinner(without children) to one of my favorite sushi resturants!I was also surprised with a birthday cake and balloons from the children after school! I think they loved it as much as I. I had a wonderful week with my husband and felt love from all around.

I am still using my Wednesdays to have some "me" time. It really feels good and makes me a better mommy. I highly suggest it to everyone I know. Even if your kids are too big. I think when they go to school I will save Wed. for a movie date with myself.

My friend Laurie is having a baby on Friday-her 4th! We are keeping the older 2 and the third is sick so he will possibly stay with grandparents! We are excited for them and can't wait to meet Mac. After holding Zac yesterday, I am really looking forward to holding a little one again. Given my children don't throw him out. (We are having bouts of jealousy.)

Fiona is babling up a storm and even says several words: momma, Daddy, ball, baby, banana(baba), and eat. Greer is still working on the potty. We make it to the bathroom on most occassions for pee but poo is still illusive. We are laundry doing fools around here!

We love you all and wish you all the best life has to give. Jana, Greg, Fiona, Greer and Sophie
